DMA SA CPD points
What is a CPD point?
CPD is Continuing Professional Development. Once you have been awarded one of the Interactive and Direct Marketing Professional Designations (watch the web site for more information as to when these will start - probably early in 2011) you will need to gather CPD points in order to retain the designation.
Why now?
We are starting the process now so that you can start to gather points from activities which are supported by DMA SA.
What else will count?
The Assegai Awards in November, Drayton Bird's Master Class also in November, and other events that DMA SA either runs or endorses.
What happens to the points?
You will need a total of 500 over a two year period. There are five categories in which CPD points are required 1) Education and Training; 2) Professional Practice; 3) Contribution to industry; 4) Legislation and 5) Personal Development. Once you start the process you will have an on-line CPD Record Card in which you can store your points, and can categorise them into one of the five categories towards the total that you are looking for.
Who keeps score?
For Individual DMA SA /1-2-1 Club members, a CPD report card will be set up for you. Another benefit of joining!
How are points decided and awarded?
A committee within DMA SA is being set up to decide on the number of CPD points that a specific activity/interaction merits. This amount will then be awarded to individuals who attend the whole activity or complete the interaction.
